That 120 decibels can do damage in less than half hour. Can stop hearing loss by not listening to music so long.

What surprised me the most was that the African people could hear so well. I put my hearing in danger by listening to music and going to concerts. I should probably turn my music down sometimes.

I may listen to music a little too loud at times which may mess up my hearing. I don't believe I am in the 19% of teens that have a hearing problem.

It surprised me that it only takes 80 db to ruin your ears. And it's making it dangerous to hurt our ears by listening to loud noises. I can wear ear plugs to stop noise damage.

It was shocking to find out how at least 1 in 3 teens have hearing disabilities. By just listening to music loudly, teenagers can develop hearing problems, I listen to my music loudly in my headphones and that puts my hearing in danger. Teenagers are supposed to be listening to music on level 4 from 1-10. I listen to about a level 9. Instead, I can lower the volume and help protect my ears.

The things that really surprised me were 12.5 percent have sustained permanent noise-induced hearing damage, and hearing could be damaged by construction work. I could turn my music down when I have my headphones in, because it could damage your little ear hairs.

Extrapolating to the nation's teens, that would mean about 6.5 million with at least slight hearing loss. We could turnn everything down

The thing that shocked me the most was how high we should have our volume. One of the articles said that most MP3 players go to a volume level of 10 but we should really only ever put it up to 4 and never above. I'm putting my hearing in danger by listening to really loud music both in my car and through my headphones. I can change this by turning my music down and accept the fact that I need to do so or I might suffer from hearing loss.

In the articles the thing that surprised me the most was 1/5 teenagers could have hearing loss. The music that i listen to I turn up loud to avoid hearing everything around me. The music could affect my hearing because it's very loud. Hearing is a special thing that everyone should be cautious about. Things that I could do differently is avoid being around loud noises and not turning my music up so loud.

Their are many ways people can lose their hearing. 1 outta 5 teens have hearing lost problems. By age 65, one outta 3 people suffer hearing lost. Noise becomes damaging the longer it lasts. Rock concert volume damage is done in less than half and hour cause of how loud the music is. So when people go out or work with loud equipment and loud things people should use ear protection to help pervent hearing damage..

I'm surprised that hearing loss is on such a large rise. I know I put my hearing at risk at times when my family cuts wood or I mow the lawn with my heaphones. I will turn down my music and use ear protection to protect my ears

It surprises me that even though teenagers/adults still listen to their music louder then they should, when they know that it is affecting their hearing and later on they could possibly become death.

What surprised me the most was learning that about 12 percent of children have permanent hearing damage and 1 of 5 people are deaf. Listening to music on headphones to drown out the sound of other loud things puts my hearing in damage. I could listen to music more quietly or for a shorter period of time,to help this.

How I'm putting my hearing in danger is drag racing, chain saw, just many things I do all day. I didn't really learn much from the articles. That I didn't already know. How I can change this is nothing but probably put in ear plugs and that would save my hearing a little bit more then what damage is already done. But probably won't change cause I like the sounds of everything.

Most of the articles I read including the hand out all recommend keeping music on personal music players at less than 120 decibels. Like in the handout it said to keep music volume, for music players that have the control max at 10, to stay at volume 4. I wasn't surprised by these articles, except for the hand out that said African men in their 70's still had great hearing. The most that I'm putting my ears danger is working next to the oven trying to hear over the oven on the phone. As to what I can do differently for it there isn't anything I can do

I was surprised that you should only listen up to 85 decibels for more than 8 hours. I do not usually deal with noises up to 100 decibels for that long of a time.

Something that surprised me is over 85 decibels can cause damage to our hearing while people who listen to music with ear buds it is more than 115 decibels. I put my hearing in danger when I listen to music in my car all the way up and also when I listen to music through my headphones I turn it up a lot to cut background sounds out. Knowing all this information tought me that I need to turn my music down to prevent hearing loss.
